This page explains what the launch firmware is trying to communicate with, and what it is not claiming. Third-party system names are reference points for builders, not a promise of full system compatibility.
IR Profile
Tagger-101 uses a 56 kHz IR carrier and independently implemented packet handling for selected shot behavior. The IR packet profile is a MilesTag II / MILES2-style protocol reference, not MilesTag firmware or an official compatibility claim. Treat any outside IR comparison as a test target, not a promise of third-party system behavior.
Third-Party Equipment
DIYLaserTag does not guarantee compatibility with MilesTag, Phoenix, or any other third-party system's full game logic, accessories, radio behavior, firmware, apps, or event rules. Sending shots or referee/admin commands to outside equipment is experimental and may produce unexpected behavior.
Naming Boundary
Do not claim official compatibility or use third-party names in DIYLaserTag product names, artifact names, app labels, domains, or logos. Keep those names limited to compatibility notes, test notes, and protocol references.
